USING A DRONE FOR A ROOF SURVEY.
Updated: Jan 13
Using a drone for a roof survey is now more popular than ever. Getting access to a roof to get a proper assessment to any damage then a drone is the obvious choice. Erecting scaffolding is often quite expensive and time consuming and inconvenient while a drone is simple, cost effective and quick. Plus it is a lot safer.
Before you do fly the drone there are a couple of things to consider. Firstly, if it is a commercial job then the drone operator needs to be CAA Approved and have a PFCO certificate to prove they've obtained the relevant training and that they also insured.
Other considerations are that sometimes you cannot use a drone to access a property. This could be because the house sits in a no fly zone, is in a built up location and flying over roads, people or another property without their permission is often difficult to do.
Talk more with your local drone operator to see how they can help with your roof survey.
